Erica Orange is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at The Future Hunters, one of the world’s leading futurist consulting firms and in this article she speaks to AESC about current trends and how they are shaping our future.
The Future Hunters discuss how “No trend can be adequately explained without putting it in the context of the pace of change”. They call this ‘templosion’ which is the implosion of everything, including the biggest events into smaller and smaller amounts of time. All of the large familiar cycles such as economic, generational, corporate lifespan and communication cycles used to take much longer to come to fruition but now everything is accelerated – “it’s as if we are experiencing these cycles on steroids.” This article explores the impact templosion will have across our lives – from reshaping business and putting business cycles on fast forward, the implications it has for the workforce and then the leadership skills required for this new era.
