Hobson Leavy are pleased to announce that Tim Mitchell has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer for Annuitas Management, a joint venture between the Board of the National Provident Fund and the Government Superannuation Fund Authority.
Tim brings extensive experience in institutional investment management, as a practitioner, as a policy advisor and as a leader.
Prior to joining Annuitas, Tim was Global Head of Governance Consulting at WTW (formerly Willis Towers Watson). In that role he worked with boards and executive teams of some of the world’s leading institutional asset owners providing advice on best practice governance, institutional design and strategic options. During his time at WTW, Tim led the most recent independent review (in 2021) of the Government Superannuation Fund Authority.
Before joining WTW, he was General Manager Corporate Strategy at the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, an institution he joined at its inception in 2002. Tim also ran his own consultancy company, where he advised a variety of Crown entities including the Reserve Bank, Public Trust and ACC. He has also been a Principal Advisor at the New Zealand Treasury, focusing on policy options regarding the Crown’s financial institutions, and, before that, was Chief Investment Officer at Colonial First State Investment Management NZ.
Tim became a Chartered Financial Analyst through the CFA Institute in 2016.
