Hobson Leavy is pleased to announce Renee Mateparae as the company’s latest participant in the Future Director programme, continuing the Group’s commitment to supporting the next generation of governance talent in New Zealand.
Ms Mateparae is currently the Tribe Lead for Future Connectivity at Spark New Zealand, taking a lead role in looking for future connectivity including Mobile, Internet of Things, marketplaces, 5G and the technology and productisation of these. At Spark, Renee has played a key leadership role in the organisation’s transition to agile. Prior to this role, Renee worked for major organisations such as Air New Zealand and Macquarie Group. Her earlier career years included roles in strategy transformations, customer experience, product strategy, product development, engineering and business optimisation. She also has previous governance experience, including as a director with AUT Ventures and as Board Observer at PropertyNZ.
Chair Joan Withers said, “With career credentials that have included a variety of challenges and opportunities internationally and locally, her significant experience in strategy, digital and disruptive technologies and her focus on the end-to-end customer experience, Renee has skills and attributes which will enable her to provide a fresh perspective to Board discussions on a variety of emerging issues. Ms Mateparae will attend the first Board meeting on 22 August 2019 and her appointment will continue through to the 2020 Annual Meeting.
