Hobson Leavy is thrilled to announce that Melissa Anderson has been appointed as Bluebridge – General Manager Shore Operations for StraitNZ.
Melissa grew up in Wellington and has evolved her career in roles in the transport and local government environments.
In Melissa’s early career, she held several finance and administration roles before joining NZBus in 2012. During her time with NZBus, Melissa was offered numerous promotions to broaden her experience into operations & leadership. She finished up as Regional Operations Manager, where she was responsible for the bus network across the Greater Wellington region.
In 2018 Melissa joined Tranzit Group as the General Manager Coachlines. Melissa enjoyed the step up into General Management and the ability to influence more broadly across the organisation. In 2019 Melissa’s general management responsibilities broadened once again to lead the Tranzurban side of the business alongside her Coachlines responsibilities where she was overseeing 270 staff across 3 depots and over 140 fleet vehicles.
Melissa has been with Greater Wellington Regional Council since 2020, where she has been responsible for managing several large partnerships and the delivery of Rail, Bus, Ferry and Total Mobility for the Wellington region. This role has allowed Melissa to apply and embed skills from her earlier career at NZBus and Tranzit Group. Her understanding and perspective of the transport network across the Wellington region has been advantageous in her role at the Council allowing her to build on her existing stakeholder relationships and deliver results at pace.
Please join us in congratulating Melissa on her appointment.
