Women are under-represented at the senior executive level in New Zealand and indeed in every country in the world. The following article references recent research from McKinsey which found that UK companies with lots of women executives significantly outperform financially. It also found that CEO’s named David, Steve or Stephen outnumbered female CEOs on the FTSE 100 in 2016. In New Zealand, CEOs named Mark (3) and/or Simon (3) currently outnumber female CEOs on the NZX (one). As a search firm with three female partners, Hobson Leavy has lived diversity.
