Hobson Leavy is thrilled to announce that Jennifer Kerr has been appointed as Pro Vice-Chancellor for the Division of Management at the The University of Waikato.
A Distinguished Alumna of the University of Waikato, Jennifer Kerr (Ngāti Mutunga, Ngāti Tama) brings significant governance and leadership expertise to the PVC role and the University. She holds a number of governance roles including Chair of Callaghan Innovation, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and WorkSafe New Zealand, as well as governance roles at New Zealand Police and Waipā Networks Limited.
As well as her current directorships, she has extensive executive experience stemming from a Human Resources background at large organisations both in New Zealand and overseas, including Mobil, Fonterra and Transpower. She has also had a successful consultancy career, working with organisations including WEL Networks, AgResearch, and Mighty River Power. Jennifer holds a BA in History and English and a GradDip in Psychology from the University of Waikato.
Jennifer brings strong commercial acumen to the PVC role, as well as her established governance capability and comprehensive strategic leadership skills. She is looking forward to learning and operating in an academic space and working with people who show passion for their fields of scholarship and the tertiary education sector.
