Hobson Leavy is thrilled to announce that Helen Murchison has been appointed General Manager for Rockgas – New Zealand’s largest LPG retailer.
Helen is a proven executive leader with strong strategic, operational and commercial experience. She has led large teams and organisations across several sectors including retail, energy and freight. She has a Bachelor of Business majoring in accounting and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Helen began her career as an Accountant, in the early 2000’s she worked at Delegat Wine Estate before joining the Freightways Group in 2003. She spent 13 years with Freightways, progressing through various senior roles and companies within the Group.
In 2016, Helen made the move to Regional Facilities Limited as the General Manager Finance before moving to HRV as the Chief Financial Officer. She joined HRV at a time of significant change as Vector had recently acquired the HRV business. After joining HRV as the CFO, she then transitioned into the Head of Sales, Marketing & Operations after 15 months before taking on the role of Group General Manager. After feeling like she achieved what she set out to at HRV, Helen felt like it was the right time to explore leadership opportunities beyond HRV.
Since leaving HRV, Helen joined EQUANS and then Blue Wing Honda where she has enjoyed the commercial and operational focus of these businesses.
Helen says she is very motivated by the GM Rockgas opportunity and feels a strong connection to the company values, sector transformation and people leadership aspects of the role.
Please join us in congratulating Helen on her role.
