Hobson Leavy is pleased to announce that the Dilworth Trust Board has appointed Ed Eadie as their inaugural Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The role of CFO is a first for the Trust Board, reflecting the increasing breadth and depth of Trust Board operations as it looks to fund the growing requirements of the school.
Dilworth’s Chief Executive Officer, Ewen Anderson says, “The complexity and size of Trust Board operations have been increasing for a number of years now, with this momentum only set to continue. We are confident that recruiting Ed as our new CFO will help us to grow our operations so that we can meet our bold aspirations over the next few years.”
Born and raised in the UK, Mr Eadie moved to New Zealand in 2009. A psychology graduate and an accountant by training, he has worked for a number of successful financial services companies around the world.
Eadie joined Dilworth at the beginning of the year, having recently worked with a variety of fintech and blockchain start-ups. Prior to this, he was the CFO of Fidelity Life for eight years. He is also on the board of Hohepa Auckland, a charity that provides residential care and day services for the intellectually disabled.
Anderson describes Ed as a standout candidate for the role.
“Ed was selected for the position due to his humble, down-to-earth and engaging nature, a proven ability to build teams and lead people, and a high level of energy combined with a sharp commercial mind and calm temperament. His depth of experience, not only as a CFO but also across broader commercial roles, his wealth of experience working with boards, his obvious intellect and his passion for the Dilworth vision and mission made him the right person for the job.”
In his new role, Eadie will contribute to a broad range of areas for the Trust Board. He will lead the continued development of a high performance and customer-focused finance team, ensuring that the level of support provided to the school over many years is maintained, while also bringing a rigorous commercial perspective to other areas of Trust Board operations. His experience working with boards will also help ensure the continuation of an effective and efficient interface with Dilworth Trust Board’s Trustees.
“My role at Dilworth is a once in a lifetime opportunity where passion and skills collide. What the school stands for and its vision for the future is both unique and inspiring. The chance to be a part of that story was an opportunity too good to miss,” says Eadie.
“I am looking forward to being a part of a strong and successful team, delivering on our promises, and helping to shape the future of Dilworth.”
