Hobson Leavy is thrilled to announce that Daniel Trinder has been appointed as Executive Director, Strategy & Design for the Financial Markets Authority – New Zealand.
Daniel brings a track record of regulatory leadership roles in international finance organisations, investment banking, central banking, and government agency contexts. He has an MA in Economics, from York University, Toronto, and a Ph.D. Economics, from Queen Mary University of London, where he is also an honorary professor.
Throughout his career he has broadened his experience such that he brings a strong ability to interpret data and global trends effectively and apply these insights to regulatory measures and responses. Daniel brings a global view, and in recent years has built a deeper understanding of the regulatory context beyond the UK, Europe and North American markets, through his work in investment banking. More recently through his consulting and advisory engagements, Daniel understands the rapidly evolving technology-enabled financial services players, including cryptocurrency, and large technology companies offering payments services.
Daniel brings a track record of leading international teams and building impactful cultures. Culture is critically important to him, and he enjoys the ability to mentor and grow successful teams.
