Hobson Leavy are thrilled to announce Carl Carrington has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer for New Zealand King Salmon.
Carl is a proven Chief Executive Officer, with a strong background in food and beverage. In particular he offers highly relevant experience in the seafood sector, both at an executive as well as a governance level.
Early on in Carl’s executive career, he held a number of leadership roles with DB Breweries, Heineken, Vietnam Breweries, Lion Nathan.
In 2012 Carl was made Chief Executive Officer of Aotearoa Fisheries (now Moana New Zealand). During his time with Moana, Carl sought to grow greater value from its seafood through infrastructure renewal, brand and channel development. Carl held this role for almost six years before deciding to move into governance, which he has done successfully.
His current governance portfolio is primarily focused on the food, beverage and primary sectors. He has been an Independent Director on the Board of Good Spirits Hospitality since 2018, which is NZX-listed. Of particular relevance was his Directorship at Mt Cook Alpine Salmon, a Board he has been a member of since 2020. He has also been a Director for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise since last year.
Carl is excited to step back into an executive leadership role in an industry that he knows well and is passionate about, and he understands the challenges facing the company and the industry, all of which are of strong interest to him.
Please join us in congratulating Carl on his appointment.
