Hobson Leavy are pleased to announce the appointment of Becky Lloyd as Chief Executive Officer for Toitū Envirocare (formerly Enviro-Mark Solutions).
Lloyd starts in the role on November 25, and takes over from Dr Ann Smith. Smith, who has led the company since 2013, will continue to be involved as a special adviser to the new chief executive.
Chair Dr Paul Reynolds says Lloyd’s strong commercial background and wide-ranging experience in business leadership, “alongside her passion for sustainability, makes her ideally placed to lead the organisation as it navigates this exciting period of rapid growth.”
Ms Lloyd comes to Toitū Envirocare most recently from Smith&Smith, where she was acting as interim customer and marketing director. Before that, she held senior roles at major corporate organisations including general manager, Humes, at Fletcher Building, general manager business marketing at Vodafone New Zealand, and head of enterprise transformation at Vodafone UK.
Toitū Envirocare is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research (a Crown research institute). Initially developed to provide carbon and environmental management programmes for New Zealand business needs, the organisation now serves hundreds of clients worldwide, through its programmes: Toitū carbonzero, Toitū carbonreduce and Toitū enviromark.
Dr Reynolds says Toitū Envirocare is entering a new phase that will see it not only grow but also play a key role in New Zealand’s response to climate change, and transition to a sustainable low carbon economy.
As of April 2019, Toitū Envirocare carbon clients have reduced their carbon footprints by an average of 20% within three to five years. In addition, the top ten reducers within the Toitū Envirocare member group collectively have prevented 58,956 tCO2e from being released into the atmosphere.
