Hobson Leavy are thrilled to announce that Amrita Balaraman has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer, Container Port for Lyttelton Port of Christchurch.
Amrita is currently Vice-President and Head of Operations at Tomra New Zealand, part of the global Tomra group headquartered in Norway.
Prior to joining Tomra, Amrita was Operations Manager at Sealord, where she headed onshore operations for Sealord, including its three manufacturing factories in Nelson and contract manufacturers in New Zealand and China. She was also responsible for a workforce that grew seasonally to over 550 staff. Amrita was also previously Operations Manager at Waste Management, where she was ran the residential collections operation in Auckland. Prior to that, she held various manufacturing operations management roles, including for Fisher & Paykel Healthcare and Fonterra.
Amrita has a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland, and an MBA from Southern Cross University in Australia.
